"The doctors help you and talk to you"

About: Royal Manchester Children's Hospital

(as the patient),

I've been here a few times because of my fingers which are growing funny. I think the doctors are good. They help you and talk to you. Most of the time it's very busy and sometimes it's a bit boring but there is stuff for you to do.

I would like to watch telly while I'm waiting.

I'm 9 years old, I will be 10 years old in less than a month.

Thanks for your comments.

We're glad that you like the doctors and find them helpful.

We have taken your comments on board about entertainment for older children like yourself as the Trust really wants to make the overall experience for young people as stress-free as possible.

I took your comments to a recent meeting with the Ambulatory Care Directorate who look after Outpatients at RMCH. Unfortunately a telly isn't possible because the noise might be distracting to other people, but they are really interested in thinking of other ways to provide entertainment for older children.

I am going to meet with the Play Specialists to see if they can help come up with other suggestions that might be practical. Do you have any other suggestions that I could take back to the Directorate for the next meeting?

Tessa
