"Bowel screening"

About: Queen Alexandra Hospital / Gastroenterology

(as the patient),

In January this year I accepted an invitation to attend Endoscopy for Bowel Scope Screening.  Due to my high blood pressure they were unable to carry out the procedure.  I got in touch with my GP and the changed my meds over time to reduce my blood pressure.  This took quite a few months but the Bowel Scope Team kept in touch each month to check on progress.

In August they carried out the screening and needed to carry out a full colonoscopy in October.

I cannot begin to tell you how impressed I have been with every member of the Bowel Screening Team at QA.  Throughout the whole process they have been amazing.  I was clearly anxious about the procedures and they made it all feel so normal and looked after me so well.

Thankfully the results were great and nothing sinister was found.  Thank you so much to the whole of the Bowel Screening Team in Endoscopy Dept at QA.
