"Hospital!"

About: Royal Manchester Children's Hospital

(as the patient),

I'm 14years old.I like the staff because they are all very friendly. The only bad bit is there are no toys for the older kids.

And I really like the staff in the scan because they were were really nice and calmed me down!!!

I hope my doctor is there again because I think he's good with kids.

Also there should be cups in the drink machine!!and maybe a vending machine!!

Thanks for your comments.

I took your comments to a recent meetng of the Ambulatory Care Directorate (these are the people that manage Outpatients). We have looked into a vendng machine but unfortunately this isn't going to happen - there is a large newsagent right across the corridor from Outpatients and as long as you let a nurse know that you are going to get some food, there is no problem with you leaving for a few minutes while you are waiting for your appointment.

There are cups available for the water machine! The hospital has a very strong environmental policy so we don't leave cups out as they tend to get wasted that way. The cups are kept at the desk. We do, however, realise that people might not know this so we are going to put a notice up informing people.

Regarding the toys for older children - we are keen to improve on this. I will be meeting with the Play Specialists to try and come up with some ideas but please let me know if you have any specific suggests for this (you can post them back on here).

Glad you like the staff!

Thanks.
