I have been with this surgery for 9 months and unfortunately had to visit quite a few times for my sons health and my own. Until recently i have never had a real problem. As others have already stated one of the doctors is absolutely wonderful with my 2 year old son and for investigating and taking my problems seriously and receptionists are lovely! however, ive not been as keen to see the locum doctors as i end up feeling like ive wasted their time and no further investigation is needed, not what you want to hear when you know somethings wrong - especially when you have recently had a close family member pass away.
I couple months ago i handed in a sample which was the first step into investigating my problem in which i never recieved a phone call back with the results. I went in to the surgery with my son as he had become poorly and at the same time asked a different Dr what came of my results in which i was told they came back fine and that i didnt need further investigating. I left it at that and just thought ill have to suffer through whatever it is i have. Until my symtoms flare up again and i become unwell so when i spoke to my doctor to see if there was anything else i could do they said to hand in a sample to which i said i had already but when they looked it had never been sent and so no results actually came from it. I was obviously a bit frustrated as i had waited months at this point thinking it had already been checked.
After handing in another, i have and am still awaiting the results (been over a week now) and requested a call back from my Dr as they knew my history better and what process we were taking. Unfortunately the call back was a Tuesday which was the next closest day my dr was working and also the day i work too but i had my phone in my pocket on vibrate (i am a nurse and can be very difficult to answer most of the time) i felt it vibrate but could not answer. When i was able to listen to the voicemail it was a different doctor trying to reach me so i rang the surgery back and spoke the practice manager and stated i am at work and is difficult to answer and i did ask for my Dr but if they weren't available then i would try and answer if possible.
However my break had finished and i had to get back to work. When i next checked my phone i had another voicemail in which a certain doctor was very very rude and stated ' i have tried to call you 6 times on your home phone and on your mobile if you wish to come into the surgery or call back ill try and deal with whatever the problem is but i will not be calling again' this was said in a very rude manner!
I was very shocked and upset. I rang the practice manager in which all that can be done is to 'chase my results' There was absolutely no need to be spoken to in such a way and feel so let down my the surgery that have normally been very friendly.
"Rude attitude and false result giving. Usually..."
