What could be improved
the accident and emergency staff could be trained in people managment
when patients are being treated for head injuries maybe it would be agood idea to conact their family
my mother had a fall at home and was seen by a paramedic at home. as she was undergoing radiotherepy at the time the paramedic contacted them who said for her to come as normal for treatment when she got there she was sent to the a&e department.when she didn't return home as normal i contacted the oncology dept who were very helpful giving me a number for a&e when i rang the doctor was rude and unhelpful in that he would only confim that she was there when i asked him to tell her to wait there for me to arrive (a journey of an hour) he said he would but couldn't make her stay.on arriving i found her in a state being shuttled in and out of different rooms after waiting an hour in which time 3 different people had left fed up of waiting eventhough it wasnt busy my mother was in a great deal of pain i went to the reception to enquire about what was happening i was rudely told by the receptionist "i'm just a receptionist" when i found a doctor all sat in a room chatting i was told they couldn't find her notes !!! 5mins later they appeared and we were sent for an x-ray then told to go to acu when we got there they weren't expecting her once a bed was found i asked the nurse for some pain relief for my mother as she was in great pain after an hour it finally arrived.
