"You don't always get it right the first time"

About: Ashley House / Substance Misuse Service

(as a service user),

I came to Ashley House about 3 years ago, and I took part in their structured day programme, which was successful. I worked wtih the Alcohol Team and became a volunteer and mentor to other service users. I also became a member of the service user group.

With this experience and training, I got a job supporting people back into training and employment. I had been employed for about a year, and then started to struggle.

I lapsed, and then relapsed.

I did try to do things on my own, but realised I was unable to.

It has taken alot of courage to face coming back to Ashley House and starting again. This was made much easier because I had confidence in Ashley House, having been successful before. Coming back was really easy, I was able to turn up and start straight away.

You don't always get it right the first time, but the process works.
