Admitted to Oak Ward on October 23rd for my first (and hopefully last!) ablation. From my first telephone consultation with the Dr to discharge I felt in totally safe hands being looked after by some of the best specialist staff in the NHS. Time will tell whether my AF problems have been resolved, but whatever the future holds I feel that the continuing care is there if I need it.
The experience was only marred by on admission being led to a bed that had not been changed also with an unclean floor, discussing medical history together with blood tests being carried out in the public lounge and then also eating in the lounge. I said enough is enough when they wanted to put the canula in also in the lounge. Total wait from arrival to being in bed was 2.5 hours. Please sort that out Harefield - a stressful time in any event started off as a disaster.
But my sincere thanks to all the medical teams.
