What I liked
It is a clean and modern hospital.
What could be improved
On two visits to spinal outpatients a lot was left top be desired. Both times my appoinmtent wait was 40 minutes. The first time (July) I had been "forgotten" and they had to go and find the consultant, the nurses station had been closed for the day!!! They then subsequently lost my paperwork delaying my follow up appointment. I was shunted to the back of the appoinment list. The second time (Oct due to the lost paperwork) I asked if the appointments were on time I was told that they were. I'm not sure what constitutes an acceptable over run time but when you have to get time off work to attend I feel patients should be kept informed of any delays.
Also no consistency. I saw two different consultants, one was over familiar and I didn't feel listened to my concerncs the second left me waiting in his office for 10 minutes and then didn't really seem to know what I was there for and I felt rushed out. In and out in less than 5 minutes.
Also there does not seem to be enough parking spaces. Even though I allowed plenty of time to attend on time it took me 25 minutes to find a space which then entailed a long walk to the building. This would be an issue for those with mobility issues.
Anything else?
For a new hospital I expected a lot more in terms of service and standard of care.
