"Excellent Service"

People are very quick often to knock the NHS and take the time to post here when the system doesn't work as it should, so its only fair that when it goes well (as it does most of the time) some positicve feedback is provided.

At the weekend my wife had a worsening UTI (water infection) and woke up very uncomfortable on Sunday morning. We looked up online and saw ytje walk in centre was open 8 till 8. Guessing that we would need a prescription we felt best to go here rather than ring 111 or out of hours Doctors.

We arrived at 8.20 in the morning, were booked in promptly and politely by the receptionist, and waited about 15 minutes to be seen only. There were at least 3 clinicians working which kept things moving. We were seen by a Nurse Practitioner/staff Nurse working together - and this combination was efficient and kept things moving well.

We got good effective care - a sensible and through history taken, and appropraite examination, good advice and the treatment we expected (a prescription).

We had left the centre by 8.50. I guess there are times when it is busier than this but can't fault the NHS when it runs like this. Well done - good effcient and tiemly care - better than having a further day of discomfort and then trying to get in to see an overstretched GP on Monday and better than turning up at A&E (the wrong place for such illness!) A good system working well.
