"Metal filing in left eyr"

About: Moorfields Eye Hospital (City Road Campus)

On Saturday evening a fragment of metal filing fell into me eye from my hair after carrying out welding and grinding work on a car. I went to my local A&E as the filing was embedded in the eye, but they could not remove it as they only use cotton buds and this was after a 3.5 hour wait. I was told to visit the eye clinic in the week which really was not an option for me.

I went home and googled Moorefields which the nurse had told me about, made a phone call to the switchboard and was advised to arrive around 8am Sunday morning.

I arrived at approx 8.30am and were pleasantly greeted by a person on the reception who was very understanding and friendly. I then saw the triage nurse who again was very friendly. After only 10-15 minutes I was being treated by a very kind person and on my way home at 9.30am.

I would like to say the hospital was all I could have wanted and would recommend to anyone that needs anything similar to myself.

Finally many thanks for your help in this case.

Please allow me to apologies for the delay in responding. Thank you for leaving such a positive post and we are glad we could provide such a seemingly effective and personalised service. I have passed your comments on to the A&E team who I know are encouraged to receive recognition of their efforts.

Thank you again for taking the time to comment.
