What I liked
I have had many experiences in this hospital, what i really liked was the a&e dept.
I suffered a very bad miscarriage and the a&e staff were fantastic. I have always been seen quickly and was treated with respect.
I have also given birth twice in this hospital, the place was always clean and tidy.
The community midwife was lovely, and it was nice to have the one midwife that stayed through the whole birth.
What could be improved
Although my community midwife was lovely, the other members of staff gave no encouragement, and for a first time mum, left alone in a ward and then midwifes telling you off for disturbing them at night was really out of order.
My second childbirth was no better, i usually give birth around 38/39 weeks, and i was having very strong contractions. I told the midwife that I am in labour, but they were not listening at all.
They checked and said that i wasnt in labour at all, even though the tracer showed it.
The only reason they didnt send me home was that i had high pressure. Within 5 hours I had already given birth.
To then make matters worse, there was no space in the words, and the worst of it no baby cot.
I was exhausted and had to try not to sleep as i had to keep the baby in between my legs. My husband asked so many times to get a cot, but they wernt even trying to find one.
Eventually I just had enough and demanded to be sent home.
Anything else?
Also when you are having a miscarriage, i dont expect the main dr in the ward to be a man, he made me feel like loosing a baby was my fault. I had no support, no information about what just happend to me, and then a dr tells me why did you get scared for.
Maybe i just nearly died???
It was the worst experience i have ever had in my life.
