"Only one good doctor here and the doctor is..."

I have been a patient of this surgery for 39 years and have always (in years gone by) been treated very well and been taken seriously.

As I'm sure most people are aware the NHS has gone down hill due to funding and the results are obvious here.

Trying to get a general appointment face to face is almost impossible, taking 3 to 4 weeks, although in an emergency they do fit you in or you can get a telephone appointment.

However, the original doctors and in my view the nicer ones have all gone or are part time. There is one shining light in the surgery and as much as I would like to sing the doctor's praises to the heavens you are not allowed to name names on this website. The doctor is the most lovely, kind and humble person who treats you with dignity and care.

The opposite side of the coin however is that I have been made to feel that I am an idiot, wasting their time and on two occasions reduced to tears by two separate doctors. One who was cross at me even being there and actually asked me why I was even there when the triage had made the appointment for me and thought it necessary.

As it turned out I was very anaemic and was justified in being there.

I now have a fear of going there unless I see this particular doctor as I am actually afraid of being dismissed, treated like I'm an annoyance or made to feel stupid.

I know life as a gp nowadays is very stressful and probably unrewarding with the relentless stream of 10 minute appointments, but some training and a lot more kindness is needed here desperately.
