"Awful policies and misdiagnosed time after time."

About: Clifton Road Surgery

Wife was told on our last visit she had reflux as she was spitting up blood, turned out to be MS but could also have been cancer, I was told I had blepharitis turned out to be acne, told I had flu turned out to be sinusitis, the list goes on and on, apart from a couple of Doctors you are lucky if they look up from the computer screen and talk to you. Got stuck in road works and arrived three minutes late for appointment and was turned away yet we can sit up to half an hour after our appointment time but that's ok.

Having said that there are a couple of doctors there we prefer to see, but we have to wait three weeks to see them, which isn't very encouraging.

Thank you for your comments, we are sorry to read you are unhappy with our services.

The Practice Manager would be more than happy to look into your health concerns/diagnosis and we would urge you to contact her direct here at the Practice.

Without being able to look into this in more depth we are unable to respond fully.

With regard to arriving 3 minutes late, the Practice does operate a strict policy where any patients that are 5 or more minutes late are asked to re-book, any patients with urgent medical conditions are asked to sit and wait and are then seen by our Duty Doctor; we would certainly not turn anyone away for being 3 minutes late.

The reason behind this policy is to allow for our clinics to run on time and therefore not result in patients having to wait too long.

However, on occasions our Doctors are faced with patients that need urgent medical attention, which requires the Doctor to use longer than their consultation time; unfortunately, these situations impact on clinical time and therefore result in increased waiting times for other patients.

All medical records are now computerised and it is necessary for our Clinical staff to record your consultations on the computer, we apologise if you feel this in-personal, this is certainly not what we would like our patients to feel.

Rugby is an ever growing town and demands on all public services are being felt.

We open up our appointments every day at 8am, this is for on the day and pre-bookable appointments (with a GP of your choice) which are bookable 2 days, 1, 2 and 4 weeks in advance.

All pre-bookable appointment can also be booked on-line.

We urge all our patients to try to book an appointment as close to 8am as possible.
