"Ignored throughout Labour - Traumatic experience"

About: Milton Keynes Hospital / Maternity care

I was left in a room for over 4 hours after the nurses told me I wasn't in labour, refused pain relief and refused to be checked within that time period.

Staff were disrespectful and ignored my wishes and made the entire experience rather traumatic after I was rushed into a room and gave birth to my baby boy 30 minutes later.

No interest in my birth plan and were degrading throughout saying it was my first child.

A friend of mine went through an identical situation the month before with her little girl and after returning to complain the hospital had no notes taken during the labour.

Understaffed and will not be returning for our future children.

We wish to pass on our congratulations for the birth of your son.

However, we are very sorry to hear of your experience. We do take feedback very seriously and the Midwifery Team are very keen to learn more about what happened in order that we can learn and improve our care. Please may we ask that you make contact with the Patient Advice and Liaison Service ( PALS) on 01908 995954 or via email on PALS@mkuh.nhs.uk. Once again we appreciate the time taken to feedback on your care. We look forward to hearing from you.
