"Dermatology Referral"

About: Chorley & South Ribble Hospital / Dermatology

I visited the Department today, having been referred by my GP for a ‘dodgy’ wart. The appointment was exactly one week after the referral was requested, so well within the 2 week cancer referral date.

The delay to see the Consultant this morning was significant, with a consequent increase in the cost of parking, but this is totally irrelevant in relation to the quality of care I received. Support staff were helpful and cheerful; nursing staff were friendly and consistently updated patients in the waiting area on delay times and the Consultant was incredibly upbeat, patient and took the time to explain to me, and their trainee, their diagnosis and the reasons for it. This is, clearly, and without doubt, the NHS at its very best!
