I just wanted to take a minute to truly praise the care provided by all staff on the children’s ward at Scarborough hospital.

Never have I seen such a happy and friendly unit. The play worker Tracey is an absolute asset to the ward and you can see how relaxed and happy the children are.

The appointments are timely without months waiting and communication is excellent from the ward.

My daughter had a brain MRI  as an outpatient, we arrived at the ward to meet with Tracey in the playroom and she talked us through the procedure. She rang radiology and took us for our scan. She stayed with us and her interaction with my daughter was incredible as she is very shy and was nervous about her scan.

The staff at radiology were extremely reassuring and friendly, nothing was too much trouble for them. Afterwards back on the ward my daughter was given certificates and stickers and they are now proudly on our fridge. People are quick to complain about services and standards but I have nothing but praise for the ward. You really feel important and not just a number at Scarborough.

Would recommend a thousand times over thank you very much!

One part of my new role in the Trust is to look at the comments posted online here, and although you posted this comment nine months ago, I wanted to respond as I was so incredibly heart-warmed to read this. As far as I know, Tracey is still there and still regarded as a star! I will pass this comment on to her as I know she will be pleased, if a little embarrassed:)

So - apologies that the comment has 'slipped through the net' and not been responded to until now, but I'm so glad you and your daughter had a good experience. Thank you so much for taking the time to post this lovely message.
