"Not a good experience"

About: Nuffield Health, Wessex Hospital

On 12 October 2017 I was admitted (07.30) as an in patient for one day to receive treatment to my left knee. During nearly 11 hours I was only offered a sandwich alongside a bowel of soup. I was told the room would be mine all day, but in the afternoon a nurse, surprised to find me there, asked me to leave as someone else wanted the room. Then I was told it was okay after all. Next, an unknown visitor walked straight in, apologised and said she had been directed to the room I was still in. After an initial flurry of activity recovering from a general anaesthetic at about 12.00 I was pretty much abandoned. In the end I simply walked out at about 17.30 (to be collected by my wife), having asked a passing nurse to remove my cannula, otherwise that would have remained in me. I have to say that notwithstanding otherwise helpful/kind staff, it was a rather disappointing experience
