"The worse Doctor I have ever been registered with!"

About: The Surgery @Aylestone

They no longer offer appointments in advance, so for someone like myself with an on-going lifetime condition who works full-time this is a nightmare.

I am not able to plan appointments around my work commitments.

You have to call on the morning of the day you would like the appointment, which means you get given a random time, 'no I can't come at 11am on the same day without informing work, and especially when my work is an hours drive away' it's not a case of just nipping out off the office for half an hour!

Even when you do have an appointment the doctor is never on time so its pointless!

I regularly wait over 40 minutes past my appointment time to be seen, and its even been as long as an hour and 30 minutes, which to be frank is ridiculous!

The main practitioner here is fantastic, but you can never get an appointment to see them.

As I have an on going condition it would be nice to see the same doctor who understands my case rather then repeating myself on every visit.

I never get to see the same doctor.

Don't get me started on prescriptions!

My repeat prescription is never ready on time, despite constant phone calls.

When they promise to fax it to the chemist (which is open until 10) so that I can collect my prescription after work as the doctors is closed, it's never there.

They promise all the time, but have failed to meet any of those promises.

My husband went to collect his prescription, only to be told that they had given it to a someone a couple of hours ago!

He than had to sit and wait while they called every pharmacy to make sure no one had tried to get the medication!

So someone is now walking round with my husbands name, date of birth & address details!!

Surely this has to be illegal giving out a prescription to the wrong person.

Very dangerous indeed.

The reception staff are rude and unhelpful... and don't seem to be able to do the simplest of tasks!

Needless to say I am now seeking to register with a new doctor.

Thank you for your feedback and I’m sorry to learn of your dissatisfaction. The practice offers both pre-bookable and on the day appointments and we have two GP partners who work every day, but we do arrange locums to cater for demand also. The practice acknowledges that locum use doesn’t offer continuity of care nor is a financially viable and we are therefore advertising for a new salaried GP. However, and with regret, little interest has been taken which is a familiar state of the wider health economy. The practice operates electronic prescribing so I am unsure why your prescription would have been faxed as this is no longer protocol. In relation to reception staff, I can only apologise and in order to look into your case more thoroughly, it would be appreciated if you could contact myself, Shaun Chadwick at the practice.
