Each time I ring a ward to enquire about a family member, it takes a very long time for anyone to answer the phone as they are busy. The longest I had to wait was this week, with a wait of nearly one hour before anyone picked up the phone.
The attitude both times that I have got through is that I am imposing on their time, but when a family member had been admitted you surely need to know how they are? I am made to feel that I am to blame for ringing them when I only want a brief conversation to tell me what is happening and how my relative is doing.
