My 84 yr old brother was admitted as an emergency with a confusing set of symptoms. He was treated positively despite the eventual diagnosis of a 'blood cancer'. He was then transferred to Victoria Ward into a private side room ( No.7) Throughout the last days of his life he received the best hospice care possible. The warm & gentle professionalism of the nursing staff throughout the day & night was a great comfort to his wife & family. What was particularly appreciated was the flexibility of care even allowing a short visit of his pet dog. His final hours were managed with maximum respect and allowed him to die with dignity. Saying 'thank you' is a very inadequate appreciation , but I will say it anyhow "thank you"
"A 'model of care' in a time of need"
