"given the wrong information & wasted half a day"

About: Edgware Community Hospital

(as the patient),

I was four months pregnant when I was given a letter from the antenatal clinic at Edgware regarding my urine and blood test results. In which the letter stated that I had a urine infection and was told to get a prescription from my G.P.

As my G.P was unavailable that day I went to the Edgware Pharmacy for advice in which they said that the walk in clinic could provide a prescription. I waited for an hour to see the nurse and she said that she could give me the antibiotics I needed without having to see the doctor but she had ran out of the medication so she said I could see the doctor in the next fifteen minutes. She assured me I would be given the antibiotics even though I wasn't suffering from any symptoms of a urine infection. I ended up waiting an hour and a half to see the doctor only for him to be confused about why I didn't have any symptoms of a urine infection and wanted to ring the lab to double check my results. He was then gone for another thirty minutes when he then came back and told me the test was contaminated!

So I then provided him with another urine sample when he then stated that it seemed very cloudy. I was shocked that he still did not provide any antibiotics even when he had already told me they were not harmful to the baby. I also found him very abrupt and constantly talked over me when I was trying to discuss my concerns. I was then very upset that not only had I been given the wrong information in my results but I had also wasted half a day at the edgware walk in clinic and then later realised that not only were my urine test results wrong but also my blood test results.
