I was transferred to IDU from AMU. All went well overnight, but in the morning I was vomiting violently, so was unable to take my morning medication. I also had an intense headache due to dehydration. I saw the doctor at 10am, and they stated they would ensure I would need IV fluids and anti-nausea medication. In the mean time I also needed blood tests and to give a urine sample.
I did not receive my anti-nausea medication until 1pm- so missed all my morning medications completely. I asked staff for a pot so I could provide a urine sample, and they gave me a bed pan and told me to leave it on the toilet floor. I did this but found it intensely embarrassing. I informed staff immediately but it was around 45 minutes before someone came to collect the sample. My IV fluids were not commenced until 6pm! I also did not have any blood taken until the following day.
