Having taken 4 weeks to get an appointment, I was seen on time and would describe the Physio assessing me as moderately competent. They eventually got the message and having gone away to confer with someone (not known who) said an MRI had been approved at the same Centre in High Wycombe. Given my mobility issues I asked if I could have the MRI done at Aylesbury, said the wait would be longer but could not justify this statement/ say why it would be longer or how long (Again, inability to communicate) Agreed for Wycombe and was told 2-3 weeks.
Today spent 2 x 11 minutes (cut off once and waited over 7 minutes each time to be connected) talking to so called Care only to be told an email would be sent to the MRI section & I would hear by the end of the week (approx. 36 hours time). Pointed out a common fault was no one was able to liaise / speak with anyone and was told this was due to the telephone system.
Overall rating of the service to date? apalling. I am waiting to start a new job, a fact that has been pointed out and no one seems to give a fig.
The whole process of being referred by my GP over five weeks ago is archaic, flawed and appears to be a job creation scheme designed by administrators for administrators'' benefit. I would suggest that until you have a process in place, you will not only haemorrhage funds but continue to get bad reviews from patients. Still, another job for an administrator to deal with I suppose. When will the NHS learn not to outsource and if it aint broke, don't try and fix it!!
