"Continuing on from quad bypass surgery."

About: Grange Medicare - Swillington Hp

Apart from not being able to get an appointment on the same day if you ring after 8-03am it is impossible to book an appointment for another day. Repeat prescriptions are held up for review without you being informed after you`ve ordered them online ( which the practice informed me would speed up the process ). Ongoing sick notes are a similar problem, Ask for a continuation on Monday ( when the old one runs out ) your told it will not be processed till Wednesday at the earliest., when you try to ring on Wednesday afternoon there is no answer despite numerous attempts. On going to the surgery to enquire in person your told the doctors tried to ring you on your house phone ( no record on answer machine ) even after telling them on Monday to ring my mobile if they wanted to get in touch with me. After asking for an appointment to see the doctor if they needed to see me to be informed that that was not possible and I`d be put down for a telephone call on friday afternoon. This obviously is no good as it creates problems with employers. The problems with the appointments is an ongoing issue of long standing, the other problems, prescriptions , sick notes etc seems to have developed over the last few months for some reason possibly because there does`nt seem to be a regular gp in attendance as i very rarely see the same one twice.

Good Morning

Swillington Practice has now joined Dr Freeman and Partners (From 1 Nov 2018) so I hope that you will have seen a change in behaviour and attitude as well as an increase in the clinical service offering at the Swillington location. Swillington patients can now use appointments at the

Oulton and Rothwell branches. There is an urgent assessment clinic available at the Oulton and Rothwell sites from 0800 - 0930 on alternate days. This allows patients that wake up feeling ill and need to be seen on the day the opportunity to go to the practice and be seen that morning.

Sincerely

Nick Gwatkin

Practice Manager
