After realising that the only way of getting a same day appointment here is the drop ins (which are only held 3 days of the week), i arrived at 8am to be greeted by a rude member of staff on reception desk who seemed more bothered about talking to other staff about their own holiday than the way they spoke to patients. I was then faced with a wait of 3 hours to see a nurse who was just as rude and dismissive of my condition (if not even more so) than the person on the reception.
I would go as far as to say this nurse wasn't good in their job role as they tried to tell me that my swollen tonsils with white spots on them were not even visible even though I could see them myself with no medical training, and not to mention the pain I was in!! They then proceeded to tell me they would not prescribe me anything due to concerns with bacterial resistance to antibiotics, which I saw as fair enough. After feeling my glands they prescribed me penicillin v?! 5 days after finishing the course of antibiotics my symptoms returned but this time even more painful and severe. As I was at my parents home for easter I went to my old GP as a temporary patient who told me my tonsils were incredibly swollen and that penicillin v is a useless antibiotic and it shouldn't have been prescribed to me.
I would not recommend this practice to anyone. I had an awful experience in every aspect possible.
