My mum was suffering from nocturnal shortness of breath and I found this very worrying as indeed did she of course, prompt diagnosis of my mum's condition as "heart failure" by one of Newton surgery's GPs has now enabled her to receive appropriate therapy.
She has been started on Furosemide which has greatly improved her condition and we are waiting on a scan of her heart at St James's which my mum's GP requested, this was returned "refused due to clinical reasons" with an accompanying letter from Leeds Hospitals but No elaboration of what these "clinical reasons" are.
My mum's GP again has swung into action regarding this and is currently rectifying this situation for us to ensure my mum receives her scan.
The doctors at Newton Surgery are excellent, they take a real human interest in their patient's welfare as do their reception and clinical/nursing staff.
I highly recommend this practice to anyone seeking a doctor in the locality
