"Deaf Equality Access"

About: Manor Park Surgery

Problem getting BSL Interpreter with appointment. They think we should book it ourselves. It's not. They not aware that the NHS have contact with BSL Interpreter service. Leeds NHS should sent to every GP surgery abt the BSL Interpreter Services. They are good with text messages to remind u your appointment but when they text you to cancel while u are at work or out of the house. How can we rebook it without direct text numbers for deaf users.

Dear Patient

Thank you for your recent feedback. Our receptionists do have a guide on the booking of interpreters, should this be for our deaf patients or those who require help with language.

I will feed back your comments to the reception team leader to ensure everyone is aware of the correct booking.

Kind Regards

Karen Wood
