In terms of making same-day appointments, they are great. I have always made an appointment when I needed one. However, my condition's been ignored by the doctors for last 2 months even though I told them it affects my life style.
More than 3 months ago, I was taken to hospital when I was at work because of a migraine/vertigo attack. After that my dizziness did not recover and the next day I went to see a doctor. They told me that it was panic/stress related and pushed me back. My condition did not get better at all even it got worse as I had severe headaches and I saw my GP several times within last 2 months.
Whenever I asked a doctor to refer me to a consultant and I was pushed back. Finally, beginning of this year an out-of -hours (Saturday) doctor from another practice told me that I must see a consultant urgently and have a CT head scan but they told me that they couldn't do that because they were not a doctor working in that practice. They wrote a note and when I called the reception in a week time I was informed that I was referred a specialist. After several weeks my condition got worse and I chased up my appointment and found out that I was referred to an ENT consultant as a routine patient.
My condition got worse and worse. Now I am struggling to work and had to see a doctor today (Saturday service). Luckily the doctor was the same one as before and told me that they have no power to speed up my appointment or to raise another urgent appointment, advised me to see a doctor working for the practice and explain the situation again. They believe that I should have a CT scan and see an ENT asap.
To cut the long story short, my condition affects my life and it seems that they do not care at all. After seeing another doctor one more time, if I'm not referred to a CT scan and ENT urgently, I'll change my GP to another.
I am extremely disappointed by the service I've received so far...
"Poor service"
