This surgery promotes itself as an outstanding area of health provision however the reality of this far from it.
The appointment system is hugely undermined by a clear shortage of GPs. You will struggle to obtain a booked appointment time and the surgery channels all its patients through its "walk in" service. Regardless of presenting health issue and background, age or severity. Whilst this will impress the CQC tick box in terms of patients seen per day, the patient experience is poor. The appointment will be rushed and basic, attention to detail and thourough examination and consideration of underlying clinical presentation overlooked. You will not be seen by the same practitioner consistently. I've no doubt the doctors and nurses try their best but they cannot deliver care/treatment effectively within the current system. Perhaps the saddest aspect is that you encounter an attitude from staff to make you feel like an impertinent, over demanding nuisance should dare to question any of this. Failing to provide any collaboration with patients regarding their health and wellbeing.
Robin lane has deteriorated hugely. The focus shifted to glossy, modern facilities and websites promising access to amazing healthcare provision. The reality and day to day experience is far far from it.
A tragedy really for both the staff who work there and the community they work for.
I will continue to battle on trying to access the medical staff here in order to care for sons ongoing health issues as I feel there is unlikely to be any better service provided elsewhere. Patients it seems just have to accept their lot and just hope they don't slip through the great big net that is primary health care in the 21st century.
