"Heart Attack/Cardio Rehab"

About: University Hospital Hairmyres / Cardiac Catherterisation University Hospital Hairmyres / Cardiology University Hospital Wishaw / Cardiology (Ward 4)

(as the patient),

I had a massive heart attack back in June this year and was an emergency admission to Hairmyres Hospital where i had to have 2 stents fitted, i was admitted to  CCU and Ward 4 at Wishaw General then within a fortnight i had a further 4 stents fitted (Hairmyres) and released the next day feeling much better and with a new outlook on life.

I was offered a place on the Cardio Rehab programme and have just finished the 8 week course.

I feel and want to express my (HEART) felt thanks and appreciation to all involved, emergency team at Hairmyres, Doctor A. Docherty and his team, all at CCU and Ward 4 Wishaw, lastly to Anne Marie, Lesley, Vicky and all the team at Cardio Rehab who have motivated, encouraged, reassured, advised and badgered me back to health.

the programme is brilliant and I would recommend everyone who undergoes cardio surgery or procedures to attend the 8 week programme.

One thing that I think could be improved is the use of bed space allocation.

Dear Bigbill

Thanks for taking the time to post your comments. I am delighted to hear that you have benefited from the cardiac rehab programme here at Wishaw. I will ensure your comments are passed on to the physiotherapist involved.

I hope the teams efforts of badgering you back to health over the 8 week period are engrained for life and that you remain motivated to continue the good work!

Thanks again

Claire Rae
