"A & E and my fear"

About: Blackpool Victoria Hospital / Accident and emergency

I arrived at the hospital on Wednesday morning sent by my GP. I was very frightened because it was a problem with my heart. Within 10 minutes of my arrival I was hooked up to monitors, a drip and several doctors were working on my problem.

Everyone I encountered in the department was calm , efficient and thoroughly professional. They kept me informed at all times and I felt safe. My fear was understandable but unnecessary.

They sorted out the problem and I was admitted to a ward.

From what you have described I can understand that this must have been a very stressful time for you so it is great to read that you found the department to be calm, efficient and the team thoroughly professional. We are incredibly proud of the team in the Emergency Department so it is fantastic that I am able to share your experience with them.
