"Unable to contact specialist nurse"

About: The Royal Liverpool University Hospital / Accident and emergency

Everytime I have been admitted to hospital I have saw my specialist nurse however on my last admission I was unable to see them and was informed they had outpatient clinic commitments . As results my care suffered why are they covering outpatient and inpatient doesn't it make more sense to have separate services when your very poorly as inpatient you don't want to be told you can't see who you need to see as outpatient clinic takes priority not good enough

Thank you for your comments. We are sorry to hear that you couldn't see your specialist nurse on this occasion and as a result you felt your care suffered. If you would like to contact the Patient Advice and Liaison Service (PALS), they will be able to investigate your concerns properly. You can contact them by phoning 0151 706 4903/4908/4909 or via PALS&complaints@rlbuht.nhs.uk
