Totally disappointed and appalled how I was treated tonight. My brother had an operation yesterday and we were advised on discharge that he needed his pressure dressing off the next day and to go to a walk in centre.
Our nearest centre in weybridge is closed due to fire and Woking would have been closed by the time I finished work and collected him so we came to Teddington. I checked the website for opening times and could not see any restrictions on treatment so i brought my brother there to have the pressure dressing removed. The receptionist refused point blank that he would not be treated. Apparently the policy says no one to be treated with anything relating to dressings after 6pm? After surgery and advise that it had to be changed due to risk of infection and him complaining it hurt, to be treated so appalling that I felt embarrassed to be asking for help. And totally humiliated in front of the waiting room. She advised we go to accident and emergency??
Is this what the NHS promote? To clog the A&E waiting room up with non emergency’s?
Totally shocked of the lack of empathy or concern, lack of support and rudeness of the receptionist who is not qualified to make the judgment on someone’s condition, it should have been referred to a nurse..
"Unhelpful and frustrating"
