"Waiting time"

About: University Hospital Hairmyres / Ophthalmology

(as a service user),

I am waiting for a cataract op. Under the 12 weak guarantee I should have had it on or before around a week ago. I have no problem with waiting a bit longer, but what I do object to is no letter telling me of a delay. A bit of communication would be helpful.

I appreciate your patience and understanding regarding the wait for your cataract procedure. Please accept my apologies that we are currently unable to meet the 12 Week Treatment Time Guarantee for this operation.

We do have a system in place to send a letter to all patients who have waited longer than 12 weeks to apologise for the delay. I’m really sorry that you haven’t received this communication.
