"Emergency Visit"

About: Bradford Royal Infirmary / Accident and emergency

My son had been ill for a few days and after ringing the doctors, was told to take him to A&E at Bradford Royal Infirmary. As my son has Autism, I thought this would be really difficult for him as he hates waiting and gets very anxious which makes him talk a lot. The staff were lovely with him. They were very patient, friendly and soon put him at ease. As they needed to take blood, I thought this would be a nightmare for him and me. I was wrong! They talked him through the process so he knew what to expect and we're so patient and understanding that he was quite relaxed when they were taking it after the initial needle going in. I'd like to thank the nurses and doctor, and let you know we do appreciate everything you do and iapologise on behalf of everyone for not showing you enough gratitude and thanks. Without you all, we would be lost. Many Thanks xx

Dear Karenam thank you for your kind feedback, I am so pleased to hear that the staff understood your son's needs and were able to meet them, so that an potentially distressing experience was made less on. I have passed this on to the department who will be really pleased to hear that you are happy with how his care was provided.
