"Lack of attention to detail"

About: Barlborough NHS Treatment Centre

My wife has just been told that after 9 weeks of treatment (one X Ray, one CT Scan and two consultant appointments that she cannot have an operation on her knee because she is an epileptic.

If this had been noticed on the paperwork she filled in at the beginning, she would not have been subjected to being told it was not possible for the operation.

She is still in pain and now has to start all over again.

How do you think she feels right now?

I think you need to vet your paperwork thoroughly.

Thank you for leaving your feedback on the NHS Choices website.

Please accept our apologies for the inconvenience and confusion caused to yourself and your wife.

This is not how we like to treat our patients and we would very much like to know what has gone wrong and why. If you could please email me - mandy.miller@careuk.com - then I can assure you a full investigation will be done.

This will enable us to look at our systems and put measures in place to avoid a similar situation happening again. I very much hope I hear from you and once again, please accept our apologies.

With kind regards, Mandy J Miller - PA to Steve Booker, Hospital Director and Marco La Malfa, Medical Director.
