"waiting &waiting"

About: William Harvey Hospital (Ashford) / Accident and emergency

had to wait 4 hours &40 minutes from start of arrival to leaving hospital, had been told to attend A&E after an operation at Benenden hospital that had resulted in an infection .

the waiting area small untidy with litter on the floor, and full of people waiting, no indication of how long to wait or when you would be seen, lack of information, was told we have the builders in, and indeed buiders did walk though the waiting area, the accomodation small untidy and not enough room for everyone waiting cramped conditions and people being treated with no privacy, drips hanging from curtain rails in full view of other patients waiting.

felt very exposed and uncared for, would not blame the staff as they are under constant pressure, not enough staff and lack of any organisation in dealing with patients, complete lack of privacy, is this what we the people of England want, we should have and deserve better, where were the managers to sort this out and why have we no decent waiting area while being told nothing, in the very end after a blood test were just given antibiotics, if we could have got an appointment at our GPs we could have saved everyone a lot of trouble and suffering.

I am sorry you had a difficult experience while waiting in A&E.

We are working, as you saw, to improve both the clinic areas and the waiting rooms for our patients.

These works should be completed soon.

We have also recruited 10 new doctors for A&E, along with extra Healthcare Assistants to assist patients in the department.

We are also working closely with NHS healthcare providers in the community to improve the information about which service to access and when, such as: GPs, Out of Hours Doctors, Minor Injuries, NHS111 and Pharmacy services.
