I had been having issues with my joints and my GP had referred me to see a Rheumatologist at FVRH. The only negative thing I have to say was the length of time it took for my initial consultation. However, I can totally appreciate the demands on this service as I am a nurse myself all though employed by a different trust! What I can totally commend is the exceptional care and attention I have been given since. My consultant Dr Blyth, the rheumatology nurses, OT and physiotherapists provide such a kind, compassionate, effective   and comprehensive service. The treatment plan initiated has made such a difference to my health and can honestly say that the entire multi disciplinary team exemplify the National Health Service at its finest.

Thank you for the lovely comments you have taken the time to post. The health board do aim to prioritise supporting reductions in waiting times but I do appreciate as a service there remains a delay between referral and accessing Rheumatology which, when you are sore and struggling, this delay can seem like a lifetime. I am glad now you have access to the service, and you have found your journey round the team and development with you of a therapeutic treatment plan beneficial. We do strive to work collectively to ensure that we tackle all elements of presentation of an inflammatory arthritis and are happy for you to call us via the nurse advice service to answer any questions or co-ordinate disease management between appointments.
