I personally have needed to use Shire Hill Hospital on 3 separate occasions.
The first time was back in 2001 when I shattered my right leg and was registered disabled for 2 years, Shire Hill was a Fantastic to get me back on my feet again, the physio department were amazing and it also saved having to commute to TGH twice a week, which just adds to the traffic issues and congestion we suffer here in Glossop/Holingworth. Also super convenient for finding family and friends dropping me off and picking me up as I couldn't drive myself.
Second time when I suffered with back pains - due to my right leg being shorter than my left after the accident
Third time 2016 when I booked an appointment directly with Shire Hill on line- saving time and NH money clogging up the Doctors- and was treated for tennis elbow.
My husband has used it as has my mother who in her 80s fell and dislocated her shoulder.
Shire Hill is an amazing hospital and by closing it, it will just lead to more strain on TGH and road congestion in the area.
Closing Shire Hill is a short viewed money saving, asset selling mistake.
Why can't I go further back on the date for 'When did you visit this hospital'?
"Extremely important local hospital"
