"On arrival"

About: Ashford Hospital / Gynaecology

On arrival at the Jasmine reception there was one person seated in the waiting area in front of me. My apppintment was on the 5th Oct at 14.35pm. I was still waiting at 3pm and wasn't called in to see the consultant until 3.15pm. I know we all expect some kind of waiting which is fine but I just thought because there was only one other person waiting in front of me I would have been seen reasonably quickly. It would have been helpful if someone could have told me about the delay. Just to make you feel you've not been forgotten. This is the second time this happened to me last time I was booked in for a breast examination and again waited for well over 3/4 hour with no explanation. The reason I've left this review today is that I just didn't understand the wait when there was only one person in front of me when I arrived! Oh and I was with the consultant for all of about maximum of 5mins! Just let patients know about the waiting time and what's happening! Then we can understand! Thank you.

We are sorry to hear that you’ve experienced a wait in this clinic twice and will pass your feedback onto the team. As you say, clinics do run over for unexpected reasons and whilst we try to minimise waiting times, it is sometimes unavoidable. However we do ask our staff to keep patients informed of any delays and we will remind them of the importance of this. Thank you for taking the time to share your experiences with us so we can improve things in the future.
