i have worked within NHS Borders for almost 28 years providing care for patients and families. However, in June I was admitted for a total hip replacement.
Being the patient made me feel apprehensive, stressed and I was also extremely anxious but knew I needed to have this done. Each step of my journey was positive, staff were professional, knowledgable and friendly. The team in theatre recognised me from work but were reassuring, supportive and inclusive and helped to alleviate my anxiety.
The staff on ward 9 were great, responsive and helpful. The physio and OT were instructive and helpful. Due to the amazing care I received throughout, I have been able to get back to work within NHS Borders at 3 months feeling fit, well and pain free.
Thank you to the whole team. I feel I have got my life back.
