"Very anxious. Oatient"

About: North Devon District Hospital / Gynaecology

I went into ladywell first for a examination, and the staff were fantastic I have to say especially nurse who made me feel at ease. I went back to have a cyst tubes and overies removed three weeks ago and they helped me so much they came with me to the theatre and waited till I wS asleep. In fact all the staff were fantastic I was so scared , but they were all so understanding. I was then transferred to king George 5th ward and again every nurse and doctor were great especially one who made me laugh and was so kind.

I was so wrong to feel scared

I worked myself up thinking the experience of being in hospital would be terrible but how wrong that was. I have nothing but praise for the staff of north Devon ladywell and king George .

Dear Karen

The thought of coming into hospital can be a daunting experience and it is pleasing to know that your experience was so different from what you were expecting. We are very lucky to have such caring and understanding staff and, as you say, life is always better when you can have a laugh!

I do hope that you are now recovering at home from your surgery and feeling better every day.

Your kind comments will be shared with the Manager of the Ladywell Unit and Ward Sister of King George V ward where I know the staff will be grateful to receive them.

Kind regards

Jayne
