"Water birth-18th June 2017"

About: Worcestershire Royal Hospital / Maternity care

Our Son arrived 16 days early we had hoped for a water birth but when we arrived the midwife led unit was at capacity. We were given a private room in triage and a birthing ball was sourced for me. The room was crazy hot (would have killed for a fan) but the staff were encouraging and attentive without being imposing. I was allowed to get on with things with mainly just my husband there which was nice. I was in triage for a couple of hours before the poppy room was ready for us. The midwife I had was an amazing person who lightened my mood and made me feel at ease. I thoroughly enjoyed giving birth to my Son in the lovely pool (his gender was a surprise) as the midwife guided me through everything, I had gas and air and lots of water whilst enjoying lovely mood lighting and the musical delights of Charlie Simpson. Amazing unit! incredible staff!!
