I was admitted to st Catherine ward initially and transferred to maternity suite and to shere ward after my c section..all staff were exceptional, they were extremely supportive, caring and maintained very high standard of professionalism. Bells were answered promptly and i felt that staff went out of their way to support me and hopefully be it was same for others. my son had an unsettled night and I had no sleep at all, one of the night staff offered to take my son so that I can have some rest..which I greatly appreciated. All midwifes and maternity support workers were giving their 100% and did everything they can to ensure all their clients needs were met. But their excellent care was let down by the number of doctors on the ward. My experience with discharge was unpleasant .I was discharged in the morning but was still on the ward till 19:00hrs as there were not enough doctors on the ward to complete the process. The midwife had kept everything ready from their side but the discharge process could not be complete without a doctor who was tied up with an emergency since morning. I greatly appreciate and thank all staff on at Catherine, shere and maternity suite for their excellent work and support.
