"Eveything was alright till...."

About: City Hospital / Maternity care

Year ago I gave birth to my little boy.

Doctors were very helpful and nice till the baby was born. Because they didn't hear babies heartbeat, they moved me to different unit ( I think c-section unit). My son arrived there.

It was very cold there, and I wasn't able to even rest after birth because of the bed and temperature of room. ( they have same beds in A&E) and didn't gave me blanket or anything, I was freezing. I went to ask for blanket, they gave me one after 1 hour!

Then they came and said they will take my babies bed because they don't have anymore and took it to another room!

I had to carry my newborn son on hands for 5 hours

Also they didn't offer me dinner or anything! I was hungry all day, no water or anything!

I wouldn't like to come back, just shocking.

Dear Kirsty, I apologise for the care you were given when you gave birth at our Trust last year. This is not the level of care that we aim to provide to our patients, and I will make sure your comments are passed onto the manager at the department to ensure that this does not happen again. Kind regards, Elaine Newell, Chief Nurse
