"Amazing care received, thank you!"

About: Glasgow Royal Infirmary / Accident & Emergency Glasgow Royal Infirmary / Plastic Surgery & Burns (wards 45, 47, 48 & 49) Glasgow Royal Infirmary / Trauma & orthopaedics (wards 26, 27, 61 & 62 )

(as the patient),

After falling off my bike, I have had consistently brilliant care and treatment from the NHS - from the paramedics, to the doctor, nurses, porters and radiologists at borders general hospital.

Also being seen amazingly quickly at a&e in the glasgow royal infirmary, where one doctor clearly explained my condition, options and a plan of action, and asked me to present for the hand specialist and possible surgery. In ward 49 of GRI I was similarly treated with kindness, dignity, respect - from the warm knowledgeable and diligent nurses, to the health care assistant, porters, surgeons and consultant who all seemed to work smoothly together as an efficient and well-oiled machine. The theatre nurses and anaesthetists also explained everything really clearly and respectfully and checked my signature was my own which was also reassuring! Information gathering was really thorough and reassuring, and my comfort and care was always being attended to. Amazing nhs experience, thank you all so much!

Dear 5thmetacarpal

Thank you for taking the time to post on Care Opinion.

I am sorry to read about your accident.

It is lovely to hear about the high standard of care you received from all the staff that you came into contact with in Glasgow Royal Infirmary.

I will make sure that we share you post with the staff in A&E and Ward 49. They will all be delighted to receive your feedback.

Good luck with your recovery.

Best wishes

Nicole
