I am a first time mum and I heard about home birth (crocus) team on my antenatal class and I am very happy I did. I opt out to go to the hospital from the beginning but I was cared for by crocus team. Having my appointments at home in convenient for me time was fantastic. But what was even better is how personal the care was.
I was able to discuss all the worries I had as first time mum and I had all my questions answered in safe environment and being reassured understood.
When my contractions started I had someone I knew to call. I was assessed at home and then made my way to the hospital with my midwife. The midwife was there for me for the whole time. The midwife encouraged me while in the birth centre and kept me informed throughout the time there. Even when I was rushed to the ward to my baby to be assisted they were there.
In a room full with people you don't know the midwife and my husband were the focus points for me in order to manage pain, fear, confusion.
Once me and my baby were at home I was very pleasantly surprised that my midwife will continue looking after us.
They came for our check ups and being at home made it so nicer and easier for us.
It saved me leaving the house trying to be at certain time at appointments with few days old baby. Furthermore I had someone to call when I had questions and worries - which of course I had plenty.
All I can say is huge thank you crocus team for being there for us, for being so kind, patient, understanding and amazing.
Thank you.
