I had surgery on my knee a week ago. The whole process was like a well oiled machine, and everyone was lovely. Various health professionals came to see me beforehand, to ask questions about my health in order to give me the best care. Louise, the nurse, looked after me in the ward, and Christine took me to the anaesthetic room, explaining everything so I knew what was happening. Then Marc the anaesthetist gave me a general anaesthetic, and I was not aware of anything else until I was back in the ward, and someone was asking how I was feeling. It takes me a long time to recover but the staff were very kind and let me sleep until I felt able to move. The tea and toast the nurse gave me tasted delicious! Later the consultants (Mr Chesney and his assistant) both came to check I was all right. The entire experience was pleasant and the staff were all excellent.
