Back in June I gave birth to my beautiful baby boy. He was diagnosed antenatally with spina bifida. My husband and I were so impressed with all of the staff who helped care for us and our baby.
The antenatal doctors and team were so lovely and professional in our difficult time of diagnosis. Thy gave us all the information and spent time answering all of questions in detail. We were left feeling reassured and as prepared as we could be for the birth of our son.
When induced to give birth the team and midwives on the labour ward were great. There were many people in the delivery room helping deliver my son as quickly and safely as possible.
After birth the team on the surgical nenonatal unit were fantastic. They were attentive to our son and us, helping us learn how to care for the needs of our boy. It was a difficult and scary time, without the nurses on the ward we would have felt lost. They were respectful of our needs but helpful when we needed it. We are eternally grateful to all of those who helped look after our family.
