"Horrific"

About: Pinderfields General Hospital / Maternity care

Having my baby here was horrific and I will be requesting another hospital for my next pregnancy, I was left pushing for 3 hours by myself with my partner and mother in law, the midwife was no where to be seen. It wasn't until my baby developed swelling of the head as he had been stuck for so long that i was helped to deliver him. The fact I was a high risk pregnancy was ignored the whole way through the labour

Response from Pinderfields General Hospital

Thank you for taking the time to post your comments on NHS Choices.

I am so sorry to read of your experiences especially at a time that should have been a positive one for all of you.

However, what you have described is clearly not the level of care we would want our patients to experience.

Nevertheless, I am grateful that you have bought this to our attention.

In order that the issues you have raised can be investigated further, I wondered whether you would be willing to talk to our PALS team on 01924 542972 to discuss your concerns with them.

Alternatively you can email them on pals@midyorks.nhs.uk

Thank you again, and I hope that you will contact the PALS team.

Kind regards

Clare Blackburn
